Live Fire Instructor - Fixed Facility

What are the Pre-requisites to take this course?

Candidates who are interested in taking the Live Fire Instructor - Fixed Facility Credential must:

  1. Be  AHJ credentialed Firefighter II & AHJ credentialed Instructor
  2. Minimum of one year as an instructor

Candidates are required to complete a liability waiver that must be signed by their Fire Chief or Training Officer from the represented department to participate in the hands-on practical portion.

Am I able to register someone else for this course?

This course is intended for individual use. Do not use another individual's login information to register for a course. You must login as yourself to receive a certificate of completion. 

Can I get a refund if I am unable to participate in this course?

Full payment is due prior to the start of a class. Late registrations are subject to a 15% increase. No refunds for cancellations will be given after thirty (30) days prior to the start date of the class. 

Refunds will not be given for no-shows at a live in-person event.

ISFSI will transfer registration to another Live Fire Instructor Credential class within nine (9) months of the original registered class.

Will I be required to bring my own set of personal protective equipment (PPE)?

Full structural PPE (helmet, hood, coat, gloves, pants, boots) is required for each participant. Candidates will be required to submit a department issued fit test prior to the start of the live in-person event. 

Participants will also need to provide their own SCBA for the event. Arrangements can be made if you are unable to travel with SCBA. Please notify your instructor in advance. 

All PPE must meet NFPA 1851, Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Firefighting and Proximity Fire Fighting

How long is the credential valid for?

The ISFSI Live Fire Instructor: Fixed Facility Credential is valid for three years. Instructors will need to complete an online re-credential platform in order to keep the credential valid after the three year time period. If you lose the credential, you will be required to complete the Live Fire Instructor Fixed Facility Credential class to obtain the credential again.

Live Fire Instructor - Acquired Structure

What are the Pre-requisites to take this course?

Candidates who are interested in taking the Live Fire Instructor - Acquired Structure credential must have successfully completed the ISFSI Live Fire Instructor: Fixed Facility credential and hold a valid credential. 

How long is the credential valid for?

The ISFSI Live Fire Instructor: Acquired Structure Credential is valid for three years. Instructors will need to complete a re-credential platform in order to keep the credential valid after the three year time period. If you lose the credential, you will be required to complete the Live Fire Acquired Structure Instructor Credential class to obtain the credential again.
